Site sampling

Technical checks and destructive tests carried out directly on site.

Site sampling is a fundamental activity for objectively assessing the quality of installed materials and the correct execution of works. TTR Institute performs on-site checks and destructive tests on steels, alloys, and plastic materials, operating according to the main international technical standards.

Some checks can be carried out directly at the installation site, reducing downtime and allowing for the identification of any non-conformities already during the operational phase. The service allows companies to obtain immediate feedback, certified technical documentation, and reliable support to ensure the full compliance of the works carried out.

For steels and alloys:

For steels and alloys:

  • Visual inspections (UNI EN ISO 9712, UNI EN ISO 17637, UNI EN ISO 5817);
  • Penetrant testing;
  • Radiographic testing;
  • Magnetic particle testing;
  • Ultrasonic testing.
Plastic materials:

Plastic materials:

  • UNI 10520 - THERMAL FUSION WELDING FOR CONTACT.
    Butt Fusion Welding of Polyethylene Pipes and/or Fittings for the Transport of Fuel Gases, Water and Other Pressurized Fluids.
  • UNI 10521 - ELECTROFUSION WELDING.
    Electrofusion Welding. Welding of Polyethylene Pipes and/or Fittings for the Transport of Fuel Gases, Water and Other Pressurized Fluids

FAQ

What does the on-site sampling carried out by TTR Institute consist of?

On-site sampling consists of technical verifications and destructive tests performed directly at the installation site, aimed at evaluating the quality of the installed materials and the correct execution of the works, in compliance with the main international technical standards.

What types of inspections are performed on metallic materials?

For steels and alloys, visual inspections are performed according to UNI EN ISO 9712, UNI EN ISO 17637, and UNI EN ISO 5817 standards, in addition to penetrant testing, radiographic, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing.

What checks are foreseen for plastic materials?

For plastic materials, checks refer to UNI 10520 and UNI 10521 standards, respectively concerning thermal element welding by contact and electrofusion welding of polyethylene pipes and fittings intended for the transport of gas, water, and other pressurized fluids.
